 AUCTION RESULTS
« Result #13 on Oct 16, 2009, 3:17pm »

HEY ALL
just wanted to let you know, the AP of AUTUMN GIRL I donated to charity last week sold for £525 -This was for strep B (caydens autumn ball) and the AP of HALFWAY BETWEEN THE GATES OF HELL AND THE GARDEN OF EDEN (L.A ONLY) sold last night in Bristols paintworks third highest out of 55 for £2300 for a print which is amazing - the 2nd highest was a pam glew ORIGINAL and 1stwas a nick walker a.p print...This was all for GET DRING MOBILE auction, which raised £24k...
very encouraging news in this climate. . Well done to whoever bidded on those -
Whilst Im here I am seeing the new uk print on monday, which is EVOLVED - see gallery 1 on www.danbaldwinart.com - I havent seen it as yet, but knowing Harwood king, its bound to blow me away - in LA recently, Shepard fairey,( who knows a few things himself about print) was blown away by the new LA print quality--This is still available BTW from Carmichael gallery for a fraction of what it sold for last night-Evolved is bound to be stunning.
Contact Harwood king for all info -
I also heard the book project im involved in in NYC 'STUCK UP,A USELESS PIECE OF CRAP -the history of stickers from punk to skateboarding to street art' has been published and will be out in 2010 - and a world tour will follow - I designed a full page for this and Shep also wrote the intro.
The film FREESTYLE comes out in feb 2010 and will be the first film in history to be released on all formats on the same day -it features two scenes with my paintings in and is gonna be a great flick -Its about freestyle basketball - ill keep you posted.
Darren at thisisalimitededition.com is putting the finishing touches to the limited edition cup saucer staffordshire bone china project we have worked on together - looks great - only 250 available. . .Oh yes a piece i donated to Shelter for the House of cards auction raised £2500 in the last two weeks as well, so thats a grand total of £5125 raised for three events in the last 2 weeks... three cheers to me.
oh more news soon...
hope all well
DAN

Dan Baldwin artist proof Autumn Girl on auction
« Result #15 on Sept 26, 2009, 8:20pm »

Earlier this year Dan donated a limited edition print of Autumn Girl in which Dan painted the spider and web on to it. Dan kindly donated to help raise funds for the GBSS charity.

The print went live on Ebay yesterday and 100% 0f the final auction price will go straight to the charity and help raise valuable funds for the charity.

The link for the auction is

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Artist-proof-print....1QQcmdZViewItem

I know this is a very sought after print and made even more sought after due to Dan adding the spider/web

Thanks for your time and good luck if you decide to bid for it

SHELTER HOUSE OF CARDS Auction/CARD PACK
« Result #25 on Aug 6, 2009, 7:51pm »

I heard that Shelter are to make a limited edition of the full set of 53 designs for the upcoming house of cards charity event in september -53 because they are using the joker - I was invited back in march or so and chose the king of hearts- Other Hearts are Damien Hirst,& polly Morgan. Its an amazing list of names involved from the Chapman brothers to Hirst to Vivienne westwood to David bailey to Rankin to Eine to Dface to Polly Morgan ,Henry Holland,Alexander mcqueen,to lots of Turner winners/contenders like Rachel whiteread -Also huge names from design/music/ ---Gerald Scarfe,Nick Park,Jamie reid, jarvis thingyer,Marc Quinn, lots of really intertesting names -should be a great night at Haunch Of venison, Burlington gardens -Anyway, i just thought id mention the cards because they are bound to be quite collectable with all 53 designs in a presentation pack.A Nick park card will be quite a funny contrast I imagine compared to a chapman brothers card ?!
see www.shelterhouseofcards.org

The tv campaign features music which Radiohead have donated all single royalties towards.....

That's the one, blue with a spider on it. I think someone on this forum has it ? If you need a change for a few weeks, come on down to Melbourne, you'll have a ball, really cool city, with a good art seen.

Hi Dan, Oz Is great, Surfs good, weathers OK, bit wintry at the moment. Over all having a blast.
New house with loads of wall space 8-), When the money starts to come in (if ever) I'll hit you up for a commission ;). Michelle and I have regretted every day since the ink'd show not buying the ordinal we had our eye on.
We have had a lot of comments about your art on our walls, the guy who framed the print above has looked up you work and is raving about it.
looking at your post it looks like you have been very busy, but when are you coming back down under?

Hi Os1so,

They are still available at Eyestorm and I guess as the price has now gone from £2,000+VAT to £2,500+VAT there are at least 5 sold.

I would have liked one too, although for a print (albeit large & hand finised) a little out of my price range.

Nice image though.

All the best

Hi
yes real busy
the group show in Storey gallery is in july, not sure exact date but ill post that on my site -
they want 4 works i think, some ceramics too - the L.A is sep, theres one planned for 2010 sometime for london - more on that later on - today had a great interview for the New York Times International Herald Tribune magazine - may be involved in some things in Paris as a result - more on that soon -Theres a new print coming out soon, being made as we speak, only available through one outlet, which will be clear soon enough -not sure if only 30 or a run of 50 is planned -
what else ? oh yeah, we filmed the art gallery scene for FREESTYLE on friday, looked amazing - i highly recommend SHIFTY , just opened in curzon cinemas across the Uk, getting great reviews, we were at the preview last night in Soho with daniel Mays and some other stars from the film, its the bbc/film london/microwave project that Freestyle is also being made with - 10 feature films for £100k p/film -'freestyle' spent a whole day shooting the scene with my art, looked amazing - should be good in october when the film comes out - theres a whole load of footage of the new works -

anyway, all is busy so keep watching db.net for all news -
hope well
x D AN

slightly off-topic as I don't actually 'own' this, but it's a piece of toast art by a very good friend of mine, Lennie Payne.

He's been using toast as a medium for around 10 years now.
Just wondered what others on the board thought.

The finished works are very impressive close-up.

Hey Tom how you doing ?
good travels abroad?
willow foundation night was great. .i was top highest piece right the way through,
but then in the last minute was beaten by a tenner by a cartoon animated tv character, shucks! can you believe it! john hurt was there, legendary actor, and it was a really good atmosphere, loads of press - the pieces are only 20cm .
richard longs did well, peter blake, - eric idles, anyway, a good charity. .
the press release has just gone out for the next charity event , 'artists 11' - with d face, blek,
pure evil, mcattee, zenx, gerald laing, and 4 other names from the scene. .all for prostate cancer, bonhams hosting and all 11 will be on show a week before auction in truman brewery I think .
anyway, theres a press release out for this now. .the artists have donated a man sized painting, at 6'x2.5 foot roughly the average mans size,as one in 11 men die of prostate cancer.the auction is feb at bonhams.
new ceramics in Bankrobber, notting hill.
london art fair jan.
keep well

Thanks. It's good to be here!

http://www.forstergallery.com/Dan-Baldwi....lypse-wow-print is the print I am talking about, and it does indeed list it as an edition of 50.

I wonder if the '150' written on mine is a mistake! I look forward to hearing from Dan when he's here next.

Hi again,

Dan is not the only one... half the artists on the urban art scene use company trademarks in their work.... Micallef, Nick Walker, D*Face, Kelsey Brookes, even the great Banksy.

I have always wonderd how they get away with it.... if you find out would be interested to know.

Regards,

q.

Welcome to the board ;D.

I do not have an 'End of Everything' but am fairly sure that the edition size is 50 (I am sure Dan will confirm next time he is on the board).

Hi Dan,

I recently got planed on an art site for using a superhero in my piece.. they said I had no right to use copyrighted images in my pieces. I notice that you often do just that.. ronald macdonald etc..

Do you know what the rules are on this? (of course rules are made to be broken!)

This was my piece if you are interested - http://rdch.deviantart.com/art/Spidey-II-89623831

Thanks for your input!

 End of Everything print question
« Result #87 on Oct 21, 2008, 2:24pm »

Hi,

I have a print of End of Everything (Apocalypse Wow) and on the print is says number 23/150 and in the small bag with the bullets in it says 23/50

Is this right? Is the edition actually of 150? On some websites it lists it as an edition of 50.

Thanks for your help

Original For Sale, Very Special, Must Be Seen
« Result #95 on Oct 16, 2008, 5:23pm »

Hi all,

I'm greatly needing to move closer to London, so to work closer with the Art scene there, and needing to raise a little wanga to back the move. So it is with great regret that im offering to sell a couple of my peices.
Dan Baldwins great Country Life to Poltics and Charles Dada 's, the Weeping Venice.

a little details on both

Country Life to Politics

Country Life & Politics is the transitional peice showing the move from Dan Baldwin's 'Country Life' series to the 'Politics' Series.

This magnificent and very important peice is also painted on a canvas like no other, with smooth curved edges allowing the painting to continue round all 4 sides of the painting. This is the only peice of Dans work on a canvas like this. Making it a very beautiful impressive and rare peice.

incase the images don't load, go to the State of Art Gallery link below where it is up for sale at the moment.

http://www.thestateofart.co.uk/Dan-Baldw....d-product-flyer

Details,

Size A Massive 122cm / 122cm and 7cm deep

Medium Oil based emusions, real butterflies and target on a unique canvas

Edition 1/1 Original

Signed Yes on side and again on back.

It doesn't matter if we were crippled from birth, or crippled in an accident. We're all brothers.

Yesterday I received confirmation from Ivan at the Rabbit Hole that I was the winning bidder ;D .

Am really excited now though.... I only have the picture of this one side.... didn't know it was double sided :o . More pictures to follow when it arrives, unless you can provide one Dan :) , I don't believe they are sending them out until next month, thats a looooonnnnnggg wait.

Dan, out of interest is there a story behind the boy?
